Our chatroom is not your average IRC channel. So if you are a first time user, we recommend that you read the chatroom instructions and guidelines before joining, to save us - and yourself - a lot of trouble. Welcome!!!



What is the Philosophy Chat Room?
The #Philosophy chatroom is an online forum (on DalNet) intended for dynamic intellectual discourse in matters related to philosophy. The goal is to foster a friendly environment in which ideas can be freely exchanged and discussed.
 


Download mIRC Chat Client
Download mIRC chat program (windows only). The program will prompt you to pick a nickname on startup, and will automatically log you on to the channel. Please note that mIRC is an independent software not developed by us. Click here to download.

Or chat Through the Java Applet
You can also start chatting via the website using the java applet. Just go to the main page and click on "Run Chat Applet", no downloads no nothing. After the applet connects to the chatroom, use the field in the bottom right corner to enter a nickname. You'll need JavaVM, which you can get here.
