Law Could Ban Abortions And Birth Control

Postby Sisyphus on September 12th, 2011, 11:48 pm

Mississippi voters will be allowed to decide on a ballot measure that defines "personhood" from the moment of fertilization, the Mississippi Supreme Court ruled last week. The measure could potentially outlaw abortions, birth control, in vitro fertilization and stem cell research across the state.

These laws make unprotected sex murder. The large numberer of fertilized eggs that do not attach to the uterine wall must be a deep concern for these people.

They are also the same people who promote gun ownership for self defense, indiscriminately kill other intelligent life forms, and call on the use of nuclear weapons to turn other nations into seas of glass.

Anthropologists need to get out there and study these primitive people before they are corrupted by civilization.

Gonna have to build a few more prisons...

Outlawing abortion is bad enough, but are they serious about birth control?

Be careful if you have a miscarriage, you could be done for manslaughter.

These laws make protected sex murder that is where the opposition to oral contraceptives (birth control pills) stems.

edy,

Yes there is a solid core of them that are very serious about birth control and they've fought availability and access to birth control for decades. Margaret Sanger (founder of Planned Parenthood in the US) had to fight in order to teach women how babies were made and how they could control it.

In my lifetime in the 80s and 90s the overt opposition to birth control seems to fade and opposition aimed tightly at abortion took center stage. Many of these groups found that if they were too direct or honest about what their agenda was they lost a lot of general support around the abortion issue. So focus on birth control kind of went underground and wasn't as widely held or pushed, but it's never went away and is for a number of them central to their cause.

Why would an abortion clinic not allow any items into a building? This is just out of pure curiosity. I read it on the protocol of an Arkansas abortion clinic while doing research on abortion. It sounds strange to me. Patients can only bring one family member with them, and no one can have anything on their person at all--no purses, no cell phones, no books, etc.
