Bath Salts - A new dangerous drug epidemic - The Zombie Drug

Postby weakmagneto on June 7th, 2012, 2:07 pm

We all are aware of the dangers of drugs. This drug seems to be especially dangerous to both user and anyone that interacts with them. Beware and be safe.

The drug - which resembles the harmless bath additive - has been linked to a case in late May where a Florida attacker chewed off part of a man's face.

On Tuesday, Health Minister Leona Aglukkaq announced she is fast-tracking the process to ban MDPV - a synthetic substance that has been around since the 1960s but is now being mixed to make what is known as bath salts.

"Let's be clear. These are not typical household bath salts. They are not the Epsom salts or the scented crystals that you find in many Canadian homes and pharmacies," Aglukkaq told reporters.

"These are drugs, serious drugs."

The drug comes in a powder form and can be snorted, ingested, pressed into a pill, put into a capsule, inhaled, smoked, mixed with water and used as eye drops and nasal spray, Brookwell said.

Symptoms include foaming at the mouth, breathing rapidly, rapid heart rate, overheating of the body, resisting treatment, incoherent speech, combativeness, hallucinations, anxiety and paranoia, and muscle pain, he said, adding the drug mimics the effects of stimulants like ecstasy and methamphetamine.

It's typically sold as herbal treatment, incense, plant food, fertilizer, insect repellent, pond cleaner, even vacuum cleaner fresheners, and retails in the U.S. for $40 to $60 per gram.

Can it be injected? What are the physical effects and high(s) of the drug? Can you provide any first hand descriptions of the high(s) associated with usage of bath salts? I am very curious because in the long lost past I experimented with a lot of drugs - not that I would use 'bath salts' but any information would be lore.

weakmagnito-dealer?

I suppose there are all kinds of things that get the human mind high, if you're not concerned about the health effects. But who is it that goes into the back shed, or medicine cabinet looking for things to mix up, and smoke or ingest to find out what they do. Like who would think to pass coffee beans through a cat and then make coffee.

We have many items used for safe and proper reasons, but human nature is to find a way to abuse it.

I am off to spend the weekend among the tall pines and pristine lakes away from civilization. Percarus: I will have to address your question upon my return (hopefully Sunday). Have a great weekend all. It's a long weekend here! :D

No bath salts detected: Causeway attacker Rudy Eugene had only pot in his system, medical examiner reports

Hi,

Am I to understand the man that nearly chewed off the face of another man only had Pot in his system?

That has to be the worst case of the Munchies I've heard yet...

Best to all,
Dave :^)

Percarus,

I have no "firsthand" descriptions of the highs associated with bath salts. Thank goodness for that!

Here is a link to additional information about bath salts:

That is scary. I'm passed the age of curiousity, but for the kids out there I remember what it was like.

This is a scare tactic, it's just like Reefer Madness. Stop listening to the media's attempts to whip people into "scary drug" frenzies. They said the same shite about Ecstasy. Remember Reefer Madness? Watch it. It's the same crap all over again, and it couldn't POSSIBLY have anything to do with the multimillion dollar PRESCRIPTION DRUG INDUSTRIES now could it? Cause it's not like you can go crazy on legal stuff, right? Right. Lemme ask you this--if this is anything to worry about, why this isolated case, pray tell? BTW there was a toxicology report, there were no bath salts--but did they admit to, I dunno, MAKING IT UP? nope. This is one of a smattering of attempts to make people freak out about synthetic pot (marketed as 'incense'). Don't listen to that crap, there's always some scare or other going around. Meanwhile people are saying ohhh noooo let's protect our children from this new drug, and buying said children milk that's been jacked up with hormones. Only thing the corporate owned newspaper is good for anymore is bonfire fuel. Just loaded with one corporate funded lie after another, and this is no different. watch reefer madness again, refresh your memory, and you will be reminded that nothing changes. Watch Super Size Me after that one and ask yourself why you're freakin out about bath salts. Why? Because the media wants you to worry about what they TELL you to worry about. Companies done paid them. Am I wrong, Dude, am I wrong.

Have you heard of the choking game? Kids are choking of air to the brain and when oxegen is restored it is a high of some sort. Problem is it also can result in apparent suiside. It sounds like this is a popular activity.

I used to play a similar game when I was a kid :P
My cuzzy showed it to me, you crouch down low to the ground and inhale/exhale as big as you can 20 times.
Then you stand up straight, against a wall and someone presses on your chest really hard.

You drop instantly and go into a deep dream that's easily recallable when you awake 20-30 seconds later.
If you try to stand up, you get a hi and you get to witness a blackout happening slowly.

But luckily we didn't decide to go all suicidal ( I stopped playing when I pee'd my pants an every one laughed... I was at the toilet in my dream!).

If we did go suicidal, that's fine, lets just blame the bath salts!
Because if there's drugs involved, then its the drugs fault!

I agree with Mello, has anyone here tried bath salts and felt like chewing face?
I wouldn't try it, but if it's not a problem, then I don't see why others can't use it in a safe way.

Here's the immediate problems I see with this article.

1. one case is described as an epidemic, misleading title... (ahhh people's faces getting eaten everywhere!!)

2. it's not even true, there was no MDPV in his system YET..
On Tuesday, Health Minister Leona Aglukkaq announced she is fast-tracking the process to ban MDPV - a synthetic substance that has been around since the 1960s but is now being mixed to make what is known as bath salts.
(why make a substance illegal, when there is no evidence pointing to said substance?)

3. No information on the actual drug at all (isn't this a news article?) instead its just full of derogatory history which may not even involve anyone using any substances at all.

4.
We owe it to our children and our communities to remove these serious health threats as quickly as we possibly can," she said.

Don't we as parents know what is good or not for our children?

And that's just at a glance.
Smells like BS to me.

So I guess the new question is.
Why should we make "bath salts" illegal, any one have a good reason?

Because its going to be illegal, if your kids are caught with it, they may go to prison.
That sounds more real than a serious health risk, to me.

I think Michael Hutchence played something similar too?
